Specification

Originally built by Henry Willis II in 1907 for Hurst Parish Church, this instrument was transferred to its present home in the North Aisle of St Faith & St Laurence during 1980, replacing a previous organ housed in a West End gallery.  The specification is largely as Willis left it, except that the action is now electric rather than pneumatic, a Twelfth has replaced the original Corno di Bassetto on the Great, and the Pedal unit has been extended.  Organist & Choirmaster (and association member) Simon Palmer reports that he has a copy of the original specification in Willis' own hand.

The organ was used for the January 2003 meeting of the association, when President Andrew Fletcher was able to lead a lively discussion on common issues faced by the church organist.
